WhatsApp, one of the most widespread and popular instant messaging applications, is preparing for a new feature where the sent media content can only be viewed once by the recipient. The details of the news prepared by Sahne Medya editors who keep the pulse of the digital world for you are as follows:
Mark Zuckerberg and Will Cathcart, who manage Facebook and WhatsApp applications, made a statement in the past days and stated that they were working on a new feature that would make money for WhatsApp. This new feature, called “View Once”, has now started to be offered to beta users.
How to Use the “View Once” Feature in WhatsApp?
According to screenshots shared by WaBetaInfo, users will only be able to select and send one media item from their gallery. After selecting the media item, you need to click on the button with the number 1 next to the “Add Title” bar in the application. After that, the media items shared with the other party will only be viewable once.
This feature will be available for photos, videos, or GIFs, and will not only be shared in personal conversations but also in groups. Every member of the group will be able to view the shared media, and the sender will be able to track who has seen it.
The recipient will have the chance to view the sent media once, but will be able to take a screenshot of the media. The WhatsApp application does not yet have a screenshot detection feature. Therefore, unlike Instagram, the recipient will not see a notification that the media has been screenshotted. This new feature of WhatsApp has been activated for WhatsApp beta users in Android version 2.21. 14.3, and it is expected that all WhatsApp users will meet this feature in the near future.
It is not yet known whether the “View Once” feature will attract as much attention as Zuckerberg and his friends expect. Also, here is our news about another WhatsApp innovation currently in beta from here you can reach.
